We created this mini-app reDish (re-dish x radish) for the Rive x Contra Character Challenge in just three weeks, working part-time. It went on to receive an honorable mention from a jury that included Disney, Rive, and Duolingo. The idea was to create Rady, a cooking buddy that helps people cook, encourages them to explore new cuisines, and makes the whole experience more playful. We also explored features like a competitive mode where friends and family could “fight-cook” against each other. We designed Rady from scratch, built a full design system around the character, and brought it all to life with interactive animations and basically a whole app (to be able to showcase the mascot) in Rive. The app was created specifically for the challenge and was never publicly released.
